Designer/Surgeon Hernan Lander’s Body Conscious Spring 2010 Collection viewing for buyers, bloggers and press
For immediate release October 2, 2009 – New York, NY
"I'm not a surgeon," Hernan Lander says, "but I'm a designer. I love the woman's body and every part of a woman's body can be flattering. Even the parts they don't like. I design my clothes for every body type.”
Lander is holding private viewings for buyers, bloggers and press today at his midtown studio following up a triumphant runway show at Gotham Hall during New York Fashion Week. Lander highlighted iFashion Network’s Fashion Week “Emerging Designers” Fashion Show. Lander wowed the audience at Gotham Hall, just a stone’s throw from The Tents.
Lander honed his craft collaborating with prominent New York designers, such as Rogelio Velasco and Ralph Lauren. He was working for the Donna Karan Collection until December 2008, when he stepped off to live his own dream.
Lander says his latest creations are perfect for the strong woman who knows who she is and what she wants. And no plastic surgery is required. To RSVP for an appointment to review the Spring 2010 Collection today from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. send an email to the designer at hernanlander@iconceptmedia.com or call 212-795-0706.
Lander’s “surgical” technique uses flowing material to camouflage a belly roll. He creates the illusion of an hour glass figure using contrasting colors and textures. And for the derriere using a “dwindling” technique Lander can create the impression of a rounder bottom line.
Lander’s designs create illusions to accentuate the beauty of every woman’s body at any age. “I design for females 16 to 60 and beyond,” he says. With his masterful draping Lander helps the hip heavy woman hide behind flowing folds of luxurious jersey. If you're short waisted he has designed high-waisted skirts and wide belt zipper design belts. If your bosom bothers you he has dresses designed to accentuate the back. “I love the back of a woman – it’s so sexy,” Lander says.
Working from his studio across the street from Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), Landers is showing buyers and the press his “surgical” collection at his studio across from FIT. The address is 242 West 27th Street, Suite 3B, between 7th and 8th Avenues.
The iFashion Network’s Fashion Week September 10-19, 2009, was produced by SEG Corporation and iConcept Media Group and featured five emerging designers from across the globe, including two Project Runway alumni.
